Care Bears Staff
My name is Erica Mason. I have been employed by Friends Child Care Center for over fifteen years. I started out volunteering and eventually worked my way up to a full time employee. I am currently the lead teacher in the younger infant room (Care Bears). I have two sons, who are graduates of FCCC. Being a teacher and a parent has given me many experiences. I have my Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the Community College of Philadelphia.
My name is Kyra Coleman. I have worked in the child care field for eight years. I have worked at Friends Child Care Center since 2006. I started at FCCC as an afternoon part time Aide. Through the support of FCCC, I obtained my H.S. Diploma and now have successfully completed my course work for my Child Development Associate. Currently, I work full time in the younger infant room (Care Bears) as an Assistant Teacher. I am also the parent of two alumni students.
Hi Family and friends! My name is Shanice Brown, the Assistant Group Supervisor of the Care Bears class! As far as I can remember, I always had the passion for working with young children. It amazes me to see how quickly they grow and to watch their interactions. I have received my Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education! I have years of experience working with young children.
My name is April Turner. I am pleased to be on board with you as we work together to give your child all the elements they need to grow as unique, fun loving individuals.I have over six years of experience working in child care. I have taught all age groups. I am not only here to teach, but to learn as well. I believe that the children are our future. So as a team, it is our job to invest and grow as one.
The Care Bears are the youngest group of children at Friends Child Care Center with ages ranging from 3 months of age to approximately 12 months of age. Our main goal is to provide a safe environment for our young infants. Our children will be able to develop and learn through many curriculum activities including music, movement, art and literacy, etc. Our group size is 12 infants with 4 teachers, giving a ratio of 3:1. We use a primary care system, assigning one teacher to 3 children, observing and taking notes on their children’s development throughout their stay in the Care Bear room. WELCOME!
